DC SET Controller for hybrid storage tank, economical and innovative solution for DHW heating.
Hybrid batteries use electricity (direct current) generated from photovoltaic solar panels. It is an innovative, simple, effective, original, economical and ideal solution for DHW heating, heating, self-consumption and storage of photovoltaic electrical energy. These accumulators are designed for:
- Industrial and agricultural buildings
- Schools, hospitals, gyms, hotels, offices
- Residential buildings, family houses
The electricity (direct current) generated through the photovoltaic panels directly powers the direct current resistors of the accumulators, and therefore the heating effectiveness is very high. This direct connection is made through patented equipment, DC SET.
The DC SET contains:
1) a heating element with DC resistors (3 x 2 kW sheathed ceramic resistors)
2) a box (DC BOX controller)
3) MC4 cables and connectors
These are conventional accumulators that are complemented by the DC SET.
The DC SET is equipped with a function that allows the direct current (DC) from the photovoltaic panels to be automatically redirected to another electrical device (Figure 1). This operation is based on potential-free connection (12V AC). If, for example, the heat pump is turned on, the energy is automatically redirected to the inverter. The inverter will begin to generate alternating current for the consumption of the heat pump. If the production of alternating current by the inverter is the same as the consumption of the heat pump, the heat pump operates without consuming electricity from the distribution network. When the heat pump is turned off, the system automatically redirects the current to the storage tank to heat the water. This process is carried out several times a day, and in case the heat pump is used in summer for cooling, the system works this way all year round. It is also possible to connect other devices such as air conditioning, electric boiler, etc. In addition, more than one device can be connected in a cluster.
The operation of our system makes the most of the energy production from the photovoltaic panels and ensures that no energy is dumped into the public grid.
