The maintenance-free lead-acid Batvolt battery (VRLA) offers one of the most practical and economical solutions on the market with a high starting behavior at low temperatures and a standard service life.
The two electrodes are made of lead and the electrolyte is a solution of distilled water and sulfuric acid. Since it is a sealed solar battery there is no loss of distilled water and in this way constant maintenance is avoided.

For the connection between the solar panels and the batteries in a photovoltaic system, it is carried out by means of a charge regulator or inverter / charger according to the application of the installation. On the other hand monoblock batteries are usually used individually at 12 V, if used at another voltage it is necessary to make connections between batteries to achieve the required voltage and capacity.
There are three types of configurations that can be made between batteries:
Serial connection: 12V installations
Parallel connection: 24V installations using 12V batteries
Mixed connection in series and in parallel: 24V installations in which more than two batteries are connected at the same time.
